Now, imagine the pain point of the clinic on the other side. How do they get your attention after all that? Enter Scrubpay, an easy way to collect those fees straight through your patient’s mobile devices. I chatted with Founder, Justin Grant, to learn more below.
What is Scrubpay?
ScrubPay is a patient-focused, mobile optimized web-based solution focused on providing an easy, fast-tracked payment process for patients. We also provide a service for providers who have difficulty collecting bills due to the time and energy it can take to get from service to payment.
What is the problem you are trying to solve?
Paying medical bills is a challenge for many reasons; paper statements are expensive, wasteful, and have a ridiculously low collection rate. ScrubPay intervenes in this process and provides a way for patients to pay their bills quickly and safely through a text message or an email. We not only improve the bottom line in each of our medical practices, but we allow the staff to spend less time trying to collect bills and more time focusing on providing quality care.
Who is your ideal customer?
A hospital, medical or dental practice that has difficulty collecting timely, full payments from their patients. We provide a faster, cheaper, and more friendly alternative to cold-calling, paper statements, or collection agencies.
What traction do you have?
Scrubpay has had great success with our flagship customer, a consortium of gastroenterology practices. We increased their expected revenue three-fold in just two weeks. We are currently working with billing companies, statement providers, other medical practices, and dental offices to launch our solution as quickly as possible.
What do you love most about being in the Village?
The Village provides an ideal space for us to focus, brainstorm, and meet other like-minded entrepreneurs. It’s great to be able to bounce an idea off dozens of other brilliant innovators—we’ve gotten some fantastic ideas from them. The rooftop is an amazing place for an event too!
Any words of wisdom for other entrepreneurs?
Just keep going. If you have a good idea, it will be rejected dozens of times before you get one piece of encouragement. There are roadblocks, hiccups, and sometimes complete disasters before there is any success. Don’t give up; every great idea took the energy and confidence of several brilliant believers before it came to fruition.
