About the Moderator:
David Lightburn is co-founder and President of Atlanta Tech Village – a 103,000 square foot building that houses over 280 startups and 1000 members. David leads the Village management team developing and implementing the Village’s vision, mission, culture and strategic goals. Intimately involved with the creation and growth of Atlanta Tech Village, David has overseen the transformation of a run-down 1980s office building into Atlanta’s premiere startup hub. A graduate of Rhodes College, David also co-founded Clickscape, a real estate technology company focused on lead generation and lead management software for real estate agents, and Village Realty, a consumer-first, tech-enabled real estate brokerage. David lives in Alpharetta with his wife and 3 kids.
About the Panelists:
Adam Zimmerman Adam Zimmerman is in his first season with the Atlanta Braves and was named Vice President of Marketing in January, 2016. His responsibilities include the management and strategy for all marketing and branding of the Braves, including leading consumer and digital marketing, community affairs and game entertainment for the team. Zimmerman also oversees the development of technology offerings for fans as well as the use of data analytics. Additionally, Zimmerman helps with the marketing strategy for The Battery Atlanta, the Braves new mixed-use development project adjacent to SunTrust Park. Prior to the Braves, Zimmerman spent 18 years with CSE (formerly Career Sports and Entertainment), most recently as agency president, successfully generating new business, managing their existing portfolio an leading the award winning agency with cutting edge programs and fan engagement through technology. While at CSE, Zimmerman also crafted a partnership with MIT, and created CSE Evolve, an in-house lab to keep up on the latest technologies. Zimmerman has also taught a graduate class on sports business at the University of Georgia. A native of Dunedin, Florida, Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Florida and resides in Vinings, Georgia.
Peter Sorckoff is the Chief Creative Officer, EVP Brand and Innovation for the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. Peter oversees brand management, advertising, promotions, the fan experience/game presentation, digital and social channels, direct/e-mail marketing and team retail operations. He is also responsible for leading all creative teams in the origination and development of new and unique content in-arena, on television and in the digital environment. In addition to his work with the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, Peter has been an exemplary member of the Calgary Flames and the Atlanta Thrashers organizations. He was also a Venue Producer for the Salt Lake Olympic Committee during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Peter sits on the board of the St. Jude’s Recover Center, as well as the Community Advisory board for CBS 46. He is a Team Advisory Council Member for InStadium – Live Sports Video Network. His accomplishments have earned him several honors, including nine ADDY’s and five IDEA awards. Peter is originally from Calgary, Alberta and lives in Roswell with his wife and three daughters.
