You may have heard a time or two that the Village has a set of core values that drive everything we do… be nice, dream big, pay it forward, and work hard, play hard. Today we are talking about paying it forward, a personal favorite of quite a few Villagers. We believe in helping our community whenever possible. We believe we are in this together. So does Village startup, Purposity. They are making it easier than ever to pay it forward to your very own neighbors.
Everywhere around us we see people in need. We also see people who want to help others but don’t know how to do so. Purposity is connecting those dots through the power of technology.
School systems and non-profits in local communities let them know current needs in their area. Purposity spreads the word to individuals near them who are willing to help. All you have to do is click a link, see the need, and make a difference for someone nearby. It may be the family next door who lost their home in a fire or the child down the street you didn’t know needed school supplies. Blake, Gared, and the whole Purposity team is taking the term “changing the world through technology” to a whole new level.
From the very beginning, this group of social entrepreneurs knew they wanted to make something that mattered. The solution they envisioned needed to be user friendly enough that anyone could navigate it, but sophisticated enough to solve complex social issues. To bring this to you, they had to ask themselves, “Is it possible to create a legacy that connects organizations and individuals in a meaningful way, unifying us all under the common quest for purpose?” Turns out, the answer is “yes”.
As the concept of Purposity scales nationally and worldwide, they see companies, nonprofits, churches, schools and individuals banding together, breaking down barriers, and uniting to help neighbors.
