Join John Yates, Partner with Morris, Manning & Martin, in a fireside chat withBoris Jerkunica, a leading Atlanta entrepreneur and owner of the Atlanta Silverbacks.  This promises to be a very interesting evening as Boris reflects on his experiencesas a serial entrepreneur founding successful firms such as Vonage Business Solutions and Netzip, Inc.  John and Boris discuss the challenges and opportunities of growing businesses.  One topic of great interest to the start-up and investment community is securing “outside investment” to grow the business, and why it turned out to be such a successful strategy for Mr. Jerkunica’s businesses.

Boris Jerkunica co-founded Vonage Business Solutions, Inc. in 2003 and also served as its Chief Executive Officer until October 2009. Mr. Jerkunica served as the Chief Executive Officer at RealNetworks Inc. He was a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Netzip, Inc. and Vocalocity, Inc., Prior to Merger with ZivVa, LLC. He worked as a Programmer and Software Architect with IBM. He serves as the Chairman at Atlanta Silverbacks LLC and a Director of Pronto Technologies, LLC. He servedas the Chairman and Director of Vonage Business Solutions, Inc. Mr. Jerkunica graduated from Emory University with an MS in Math/Computer Science in 1987 and also BS in Math/Computer Science.

John C. Yates is the partner-in-charge of the Technology

Practice at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLC. Mr. Yates is one of the pioneers of the technology law field and has been practicing exclusively in this area for over 35 years. The firm’s technology practice has represented hundreds of technology companies and provides legal services in IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, patent prosecution, Internet law, biotech and medical devices, e-commerce/distribution, corporate finance and venture capital, international law and dispute resolution.
