How to Properly Structure your Seed Financing. Michael Horten, Horten CC
2:00-3:30 PM on September 25, 2018
The recent proliferation of investment vehicles available to early-stage companies has greatly increased the complexity of raising capital. The workshop will review the basics of some of the most popular investment vehicles and teach you how to properly structure your seed financing. You will learn how to:
- Choose among the dizzying array of financial instruments used in today’s seed financings, including traditional preferred stock, stripped-down preferred stock, convertible promissory notes and SAFE notes
- Negotiate the right terms to these instruments
- Set the pre-money valuation
The presentation will be amplified with war stories from Michael’s many years as an angel investor and counseling early-stage companies. The session will be interactive, so bring your questions.
