In 2017, Atlanta ranked eighth for having the worst traffic on the planet. While we have fallen lower on the list since then, Atlanta’s Smart Transportation initiative, SmartATL, is crucial to improving the livability of the city and accommodating the region’s growth. Currently the Atlanta Metro area has Smart Transit Corridors, the Atlanta Streetcar, MARTA expansion plans, on-demand mobility, ridesharing and traffic management technology, and data analytics deployed.

What are the new ideas on the horizon that will improve roadway and public safety, mobility and the environment, and most importantly, reduce traffic congestion? Are there lessons from other cities we can benefit from to make our streets suitable for alternative modes of transportation?

Join the Wireless Technology Forum on May 16th as we explore answers to these questions and more, including:

  • What could Atlanta’s Smart Transportation plan entail?
  • What existing models should we be emulating? Avoiding?
  • What improvements are being explored to enhance the city’s operational efficiencies?
  • What are the hurdles keeping us from moving faster?
  • How can citizens and businesses help the movement make faster progress?
