Women + Tech Meetup: Pay it Forward to the Period Project
Join us on December 11th from 12 - 1:30 pm to spend time with incredible women in tech while paying it forward to other women across Atlanta. We will be getting together to create packs for the Atlanta Chapter of the Period Project.
We will get to have a great time networking while paying it forward this holiday season.
We ask that when you attend the event, you bring with you one (or 6) of the following:
- Individually wrapped feminine hygiene wipes
- Individually wrapped tampons
- Individually ultra-thin overnight pads
- Individually ultra-thin pads
- Individually liner
Can't make it and still want to provide period products for the event? Feel free to order from their Amazon wishlist to be shipped to the Atlanta Chapter President, Hilton Thompson. Just be sure to order by December 6th in order for us to have it in time for the event.
Please reach out directly to Hilton if you have questions at atlanta@periodproject.org.
What is a period pack and who do they go to?
A Period Pack is a small package that contains a supply of products for one woman including tampons, pads, and wipes. These products serve menstruators in shelters and living on the street. We also supply them to young menstruators in local schools who cannot afford or access menstrual care as well as to menstruators in need due to disasters such as hurricanes or fires. The Homeless Period Project has delivered over 240,000-period packs since we began our mission in 2015.
About the Series
Ladies of the Village, it’s time to come together to make the phrase “Women in Tech” obsolete! Join us as we openly discuss personal and professional growth, challenges in the workplace, community involvement, and whatever else is on your mind. Our Village can be the one to make women in tech the status quo.
Mission: To empower women in tech through a kick-ass network, intentional teaching & purposeful community because it does take a village. Our goal is to make to Atlanta the number one place for “women in tech” (because clearly it’s not Silicon Valley).
