INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2020

March 5, 2020

We should all be feminists.

Atlanta Tech Village believes that women should be represented in tech as they are in the rest of the world. If you have been to any of our Women + Tech events, you have heard time and time again that our mission is to empower women in tech through a kick-ass network, intentional teaching, and purposeful community because, it does take a Village. Our goal is to make Atlanta the number one place for “women in tech” (because clearly, it’s not Silicon Valley). The Women + Tech Program was created for YOU to support and inspire you as leaders, builders, and influencers of the Atlanta startup community.

Did you know that growth in women-owned businesses has outpaced the overall increase in new businesses by 1.5 times? Gender diverse companies are 15% more likely to outperform competition & ethically diverse companies are 35% more likely to outperform competition. The proof is in the numbers y'all, hiring women isn't about saying you have created a diverse workplace, it's about the health & success of your company.

The team that makes this Village run is made up of 53% women. From working 14 hour days to making an event a success to thinking of creative ways to make life more fun for our members, this group of women knows how to hustle. And we don't just run the 4th largest tech hub in America... literally 7 of the 8 of us have side hustles.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we have put together a playlist full of songs that make us proud to be women. The Village team wants you to feel as empowered as we do when we turn up the radio and get our dance, sing, or workout on.

So, what song makes you feel empowered to be the badass woman that you are? Let us know so we can add it to our playlist!

Happy International Women's Day and happy Women's History Month 👯‍♀️ We are continually inspired by the women who continue to show up to make Atlanta a better place for women in tech!

See you next week for the Women + Tech Meetup! RSVP here.
