Atlanta Tech Village is Going Green
One of the largest tech incubators is going 100% carbon neutral!
At Atlanta Tech Village, we’re officially joining the sustainability movement with Village startup GreenPrint, to help make the world a better place and kick off Atlanta's commitment to 100% renewable energy by 2035.
Who’s GreenPrint?
GreenPrint was founded by a team of loyalty and rewards experts and are the creators of "Sustainability as a Service". They have several reduced emission products and programs that are currently licensed to convenience store chains, energy companies, petroleum marketers, and corporate fleets – enabling them to sell more environmentally friendly fuel, products, and more. Now GreenPrint is reducing the Village's electrical emissions.
How it Works
GreenPrint analyzed the Village's Annual Electrical Usage and ran calculations through their proprietary software to completely reduce a whopping 2,713,890 pounds of CO2e emissions that the Village emitted in 2016! That means all of last year will be completely offset through tree planting and other certified offset projects. On top of that, moving forward GreenPrint will continue to consistently reduce the Villager's emissions on a monthly basis.
This works through GreenPrint’s partners, its software, and through investments in certified CO2e offset projects such as Ecomapua Brazilian REDD projects, Black Warrior Solid Waste Landfill Gas Capture projects, TASMA-V2 India Wind Power projects, Chesapeake Mizer Pneumatic Projects, and other projects that include reforestation, afforestation, alternative energy, landfill gas reclamation, and other projects that actively make our world a better place.
We’ll also be planting trees in and around Atlanta with the help of GreenPrint’s National Non-Profit partner, the Arbor Day Foundation, as a part of the Village's efforts to go green.
Why Do It?
Because we believe that startups who are striving to change the world deserve to do that in a thriving and heathy environment. All Villagers can now say that they are officially running their business in a carbon neutral office space.
Saving the world, one carbon neutral tech hub at a time.
