Atlanta Tech Village has a coveted group of Mentors and Advisors available to Villagers. They are a highly vetted community of people who have a wealth of experience, insight, and a pay it forward mentality. We strongly believe that every Founder should have at least one Mentor as the numbers prove the significance.
Every year, we open up applications for the next calendar year for potential Mentors and Advisors. We also require repeat application for those wanting to return to the program. Our Advisors serve as subject matter experts: the sales wizards, lawyers, accountants, SEO experts, and marketing gurus. These relationships are considered short-term connections, with Founders and startup team members, for specific subject matter needs and requests. Mentors walk alongside of Village Founders building a long-term mentoring relationship, by regularly meeting and supporting them through personal and professional growth.
Our hope is that Mentors and Advisors are getting an equal return in paying it forward. Being a part of something greater than yourself is rewarding in an immeasurable way.
The ATV is a cornerstone for our tech community in Atlanta and beyond. It's been such a rewarding experience to help the companies I've worked for here, and I'm paying it forward now as an advisor for other startups. Our Village is also where you want to be for cutting edge tech startups. You never know who you'll see in the lobby: colleagues visiting from San Francisco, friends from high school or college now working at their own startups, or the occasional celebrity. Paying it forward in a place where you see value and progress is very rewarding.
