What is MarketPlace Meet?Marketplace Meet is an Influencer Marketing Solution for emerging brands. Our self-service portal provides sponsored product/service endorsement opportunities for businesses looking to create brand awareness nationally, to local markets, or to a target audience. Businesses seeking to build brand or product awareness can use MarketplaceMeet.com (MPM) to easily find, hire and collaborate with popular social media influencers to promote their products or services via social media in exchange for compensation.

How The Marketplace Works?Registered businesses using the sites search tools can review the profiles and promotion rates of registered influencers with over 25k followers on one or more social media platforms. Businesses select "make offer" to send a promotion request to an influencer who is immediately notified on their mobile device and prompted to accept or reject the offer.  If accepted, the business pays the invoiced amount to the marketplace via PayPal, credit or debit card. Influencers will do the promotion as agreed and mark the job complete, which triggers an automatic notification to both the marketplace and the business. When the business marks the job complete, payment is released to the influencer less 18% retained by the marketplace.

What is the problem solved and the impact?Promotion for compensation exchanges between social media influencers and businesses are currently taking place globally.  However, it is challenging for brands to connect with influencers through email and direct messaging and the transaction lacks the safety and security brands benefit from.  MPM offers a secure place for these exchanges and addresses the inefficiencies and pain points for both sides.  We make it easier for businesses to research, contact and make offers to willing influencers while eliminating the negotiation process and providing dispute resolution when needed.  

Tens of thousands of businesses now have an effective channel to increase brand and product awareness with Millennials and others. Thousands of creative social media influencers will now monetize their popularity generating primary income for themselves and their families. MPM will grow and create jobs in the Atlanta area.

What traction do you have?MPM launched in May 2015 and started with several hundred influencers and brands already on the platform.  We were one of 100 startups selected to attend the Global Emerging Entrepreneurs Event at the White House on May 11th featuring remarks by President Obama. This event, and the associated press, adds credibility in recruiting marketplace users. We haven’t found a need to expand customer acquisition efforts beyond very effective email campaigning and social media outreach efforts. Positive press significantly helps in driving email campaign enrollment rates of new users.

What do you love most about being in the Village?The people here are our best resources and truly make the Village magical.  There is a wealth of knowledge, support and positive energy exchanged here every day that makes this place refreshingly unique in comparison to any other environment.  

Any words of wisdom?Repurpose anything you legally can in lieu of creating a concept from scratch. Research and leverage the experiences of others who have failed and succeeded at something comparable to what you are creating and dip deep to identify ways to make it better while adding new value.

Anything else you would like us to know?MPM is looking for a partner that can help analyze the effectiveness of social media posts so we can provide summary reporting back to our marketplace users. We are also looking for a partner that can utilize technology to easily identify and pull contact information from social media accounts with over 25k followers (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vine and YouTube).
