Why Buckhead?

One of the questions I often get asked about Atlanta Tech Village is, “Why Buckhead?” Why did we choose Buckhead to be the home for the largest coworking facility in the Southeast? Tech Square in Midtown houses ATDC, Hypepotamus and Georgia Tech- all walking distance from each other. Buckhead, on the other hand, is on the north side of Atlanta and a solid 20 minute drive from this existing tech hub. While I could talk to you about our proximity to MARTA, our direct access to 400, and the amazing companies located here on the Tech Corridor, the biggest answer is that Buckhead is where the highest concentration of wealth resides. One of our city’s challenges with retaining talent and growing successful startups is a lower occurrence of investment capital. ATV hopes to change that by literally being in the epicenter of Atlanta’s financial district. As we are becoming a deeper part of this community, we are inviting them into the tech startup world. Our location helps us to build relationships and put some of our tech startups in the middle of the wealth where potential investors can see successes happening first hand. It becomes more of a connected community and a more ideal and complete ecosystem benefiting everyone involved.We hope Atlanta Tech Village will be a catalyst for moving Atlanta into a top 5 tech hub in the US and geography will play a part in that. Why Buckhead? This location may be our secret sauce.
