Nearing One Billion

August 29, 2019

Villagers, we are doing it.  YOU are doing it.

Since the Village opened doors in 2012, Villagers have raised more than $893M in funding.

Villagers, past and present, like Salesloft, Bitpay, Cooleaf, iFOLIO, Motivo, Terminus and Bettercloud have all been vital contributors to the overall funding number, as well as more than 70 others.

As Atlanta continues to move toward becoming one of the world’s most elite tech cities, it’s important to provide entrepreneurs the support and resources needed to grow a startup into a thriving business, along with the physical space. At the Village, founders collaborate with other passionate entrepreneurs, consult with mentors, have access to numerous perks and strategic relationships, and dozens of educational and development programs. Our goal is to fuel Atlanta’s rise to a top tech-startup in the U.S. Our startup funding to date – with a 14% increase in the last year – only substantiates our efforts as we continue to work towards that goal.

-Karen Houghton, VP Atlanta Tech Village

This number is great news for us at the Village and something we want to celebrate, but it's also a representation of how far we've come in this ecosystem. Nearing a billion dollars in funding in just six and a half years is huge and a milestone that will continue to propel startup growth at the Village and in the city of Atlanta.

We attribute the growth to the hard work of our startups as well as the resources and community that exist within the Village. Our It Takes a Village pre-accelerator, Startup Summer School, and Women + Tech programs are a few of the ways we pour into the ecosystem to equip entrepreneurs with the tools they need to scale and succeed.

The day we reach 1 billion dollars in funding will be a day to celebrate our community and city. Until that day comes, this success confirms what we already knew about our members and the Atlanta tech ecosystem; it is unlike anything else in the nation.
